Weight Loss Tips
6 Biggest Weight-Loss Mistakes !!

Plus  our expertise on what should be done about it.

Numero Uno, The big Cahuna, # 1

  # 1  Going on any diet that is NOT a manner of eating that you can adhere to for the rest of your life.  Be careful when deciding what nutritional plan you want to follow, as it should be a manner of eating that matches your tastes, budget and lifestyle.  You should model all of your future nutritional plans closely after how you lost the weight to keep that weight lost for good!.

# 2 Weighing in too frequently, letting the scale rule your mood and actions.  Up to this point, have you been fixated on the scale?  Well, if so, it hasn't really helped you lose weight, has it?  Otherwise you would'nt be here, looking for yet another "diet."  So do both of us a favor, and pack the scale up,  put a big red bow around it, and unwrap it after six moth's consistent healthful living.  It might actually show you something you want to see!

# 3 Thinking you are genetically destined to be fat.  The only fat gene is the one left hanging in your closet after you lose your weight!  You may be predisposed to a condition, but HOW you live determines how great it's effect on your it will be.

# 4 Thinking of exercise as a chore instead of a way to improve your health and life.  Not scheduling exercise as a vital part of your day and week.  Exercise is a "GET TO", not a "HAVE TO."  it is a joy to move your body and get your endorphines flowing.  They are truly nature's reward for demanding physical fitness of ourselves. PUSH yourself; you will be amazed at how it feels!

Do not take the ability to live and walk for granted.  When you exercise your physical body it is something that is a privledge and with that privledge should be respect for having it.  Trying to improve your physical health is a way of respecting yourself, and life itself.

please note: YOU must PUSH yourself (or have us do it :)  to feel and see a difference.

# 5 thinking pills, potions, and bad TV infomercials are going to magically create the weight loss of your dreams.  People really think this stuff works!  Sorry, but it does'nt.  If these things really worked, no one would be overweight.

The last sentance says it all.  Protein powders are Ok,  creatine works for temporary muscle fullness, and increases in strength.  Other than these two everything else is mostly a waste of money.  Just workout HARD 3x weekly, take a good natural multi-vitamin, and think eat sensibly 5-6 days a week.  That is your magic formula.  Not so glamous but it WILL work.  And it has not cost you 3 payments of $19.99 to find out the truth.

# 6 Having a Negative defeatist attitude.  If you think their is no way that you are going to succeed this time, lose the weight and keep it off, then you will be right!  Likeness attracts Like.  Birds of the same feather flock together.

How we believe in ourselves and our personal attitude of ourselves, and life is what our experience becomes.  We get out of life what we see in the world, and how the world responds to our energy to it.  If a person really, really, really wants to become fit and healthy or at least more "thin", then what is your voice always saying to yourself and who surrounds your life experiece.  Change comes when change is trully desired.  Trully desired.

CARDIOVASCULAR+RESISTANCE TRAINING+NUTRITION=REAL RESULTS

This equation looks simple, and it can be if you have the necessary plan of action. Having a definitive purpose and a sound plan of action will produce the results that you desire. Below I will discuss the benefits of each part of the REAL RESULTS equation.

CARDIOVASCULAR- Having a healthy heart is crucial. Your heart is the most important muscle in your body and you must exercise this muscle just as you would exercise any muscle. Having an optimally functioning heart! There are many forms of cardio which include: walking, running, hiking, biking, swimming, and my favorite; the stair master. I will help you incorporate cardio into you workout and make it fun and enjoyable. Cardio should be performed 3-5 times a week for at least 30mins in duration.

RESISTANCE TRAINING- Resistance training or strength training is a must for everyone. YES, I mean everyone. Strength training is not prejudice to age. Strength training comes in many forms so depending on your age and goals I will design a program that is suited just for you! Resistance training benefits are:
 Improves you ability to do everyday activities: the stronger your muscles, the easier it is to get groceries out of the car, holding your baby, playing with you children…the list is endless!
 Improves your balance and stability: the stronger and more resilient your muscles, the more balance you will have. This will help you with daily activities and decrease the risk of sudden falls or accidents as you age.
 Builds muscular strength: Adults lose five and seven pounds of muscle every decade after the age of 20. Resistance training will help prevent this muscle loss, and rebuild what you may have lost. Also remember that the more muscle you have the less body fat you will have which leads to a pleasing physique.
 Decrease the risk of osteoporosis: Inactivity can lead to a severe decrease in bone density, which leads to brittle bones. There have been countless studies showing that a sound strength training program can prevent osteoporosis.
 Reduces blood pressure: Strength training can be beneficial to the prevention and treatment of high blood pressure by strengthening your heart.
 Increase calorie burning: Strength training increases the body’s metabolic rate, causing the body to burn more calories throughout the day. This aids significantly in long term weight loss and maintenance
 Reduces low back pain: Studies have shown that resistance training can increase low back strength and alleviate low back pain.

Nutrition: Here is where many fail in their attempts to get REAL RESULTS! There is too much temptation available for us to fail on our nutrition. The obesity rate in the United States is at an alarming 80%. Take a hard look at that number. This means that 80% of the people in the United States aren’t just over weight, but they are obese. Being obese has many risk factors including: high blood pressure which leads to a heart attack, diabetes, high cholesterol, and that’s just a few. Having a sound nutrition plan tailored to your needs is the most crucial part the REAL RESULTS equation. Proper knowledge is the key to a successful nutrition program and I will design a plan of action for your specific needs and goals
